To me, The news came to me like a bang on my ears, hearing that Ghanaian Poet Kofi Awoonor, One of The African's Most Famous and distinguished Literary Figure, was among the scores of people killed by Al Qaede aligned terrorists, Millitant Attack who attacked a busy shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya over last Weekend on the 22nd of September, 2013. Kofi Professor Awoonor who died at Age 78, while His Son was among the Nearly 200 injured in the attack. " Awoonor was in Kenya for the 2013 Storymoja Hey Festival- an event celebrating the art of storytelling with readings, workshops and discussions Festival began on Thursday, 20th of September, 2013 was immediately suspended at the mall shootings". Awoonor Studied at University College of Ghana and London's University College before He got his doctarate Degree in Comparative Literature at State University of New York at Stony Brod.
